Conzzeta Holding buys Asian automation company Excel Precision Sdn. Bhd.
Zurich, 22 November 2006 – Conzzeta Holding is acquiring Excel Precision Sdn. Bhd., which is headquartered in Penang, Malaysia, for its ixmation (Automation Systems) business unit. Excel Precision specializes in the development and manufacture of automation solutions for assembly, production and test systems. The acquisition of Excel Precision and its subsidiary in Suzhou, China, represents a strategically important expansion for Conzzeta’s Automation business unit in a region with strongly growing markets.
Founded in 1988, Excel Precision Sdn. Bhd. is domiciled in the Southeast Asian city of Penang in Malaysia, where it employs a 90-strong workforce. A further 50 employees are located at the company’s subsidiary in Suzhou, China. In the 2005/06 business year, Excel Precision generated consolidated sales of around CHF 10 million. The company specializes in the manufacture of turnkey automation solutions for assembly lines, production plants and test systems. Among Excel Precision’s main customers are leading players in the electronics, telecommunications and automotive industries – a mix which fits very well with ixmation’s existing client portfolio. Excel Precision’s management team will continue in its present form after the takeover.

Through this acquisition, we are gaining products which complement our existing range, as well as two locations in the important and growing Asian market.
